Camp Location

The Gedangan Convent (girls' division of the European orphanage of the Franciscan Sisters of Heythuysen) was located on Kloosterstraat (“Convent Street”) in the northeast section of the city of Semarang. This structure is shown on the Semarang city map in the “Stedenatlas van Neder­lands-Indië" (City Maps of the Dutch East Indies) - number 98. The camp was established within the convent (hence the name “Convent-camp”).
